McFarland Unified School District
School Breakfast & Summer Food Service Program
Food Services Department is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Earlier this year, we were awarded a School Breakfast and Summer Food Program Grant, which allows us to serve meals to kids at the McFarland and Browning Road Parks.
McFarland Park offers a summer camp and other activities for children in our community. At McFarland Park we are currently serving an average of 60 Meals for Breakfast and 80 for Lunch.
At Browning Road Park participation was low in the beginning with just serving fewer
than 25 meals for breakfast and lunch. Currently, we are preparing 80 meals for breakfast and 100 meals for lunch. The turnout has been great! Parents are encouraging their children to go and have a healthy breakfast or lunch. Some children patiently wait in their pajamas for breakfast to arrive.
